Janus has sure come full circle. I own BEN and any BEN fund company acquisition "requires" increasing the annual management fees.

In my view, I contrast BEN with TROW. BEN pays for the sale of its funds and doesn't have very good results from its funds performance. BEN charges high fees and regularly raises fees. TROW keeps fees modest and increases its asset base by high fund performance....

Stock zooms up 9% on rumor Calif. firm wants to join forces

Janus Capital Group's stock rose almost 9 percent on Monday as investors speculated that the Denver-based mutual fund company could be acquired by a rival.

Shares in Janus had their biggest single-day gain in about two years.
