JavaTraveler, I never thought I would enjoy watching curling, but it hasn't been too bad. Once I understood the rules then I understood the strategy and the difference between a good curl and a bad curl. Now, I wouldn't buy a ticket to go see it, but I don't mind catching some of it on TV, where they can present you with an 'edited' version to speed it up a bit.

Snowboarding is a legitimate winter sport and the half-pipe and slalom competitions are also legitimate. I do understand where the criticism comes from in regards to that sport, but let's not say they are not committed athletes who train hard to compete. There seem to be several countries that are good at it. Did you see the Finnish Snowboarder with the Mohawk? That was interesting.

I was in SL during the pre-olympic run up and the first few days of competition and let me tell you, walking around downtown, taking in the atmosphere, is wonderful. Everyone should go to an Olympics just to meet people from all over the world. Despite all the commercialism, scandal etc., it truly is a blast while the games are going on.

Roger
