Hi - I've been lurking around and have decided to post. I recognize a lot of you from other boards, esp. the Pet Lovers, where I spend most of my time. I recently changed jobs and went from traditional business attire to casual/anything goes attire (woo-hoo!!). This, of course, required a whole new wardrobe (purchased following LBYM strategies) because I'm 30 lbs. heavier than my casual clothes are. And now my fat new clothes are snug!! I've never been this heavy in my life! It's my fault, of course, not eating properly (I normally only eat once a day), not exercising, liking my beer and wine, etc. The new dog, Kallie, should take care of the exercising problem to some extent, and the other issues are self-control. I'm trying to eat 3 times a day instead of one, cut down on alcohol (tastes good but, oh, those empty calories!), etc.You all are so supportive of each other! Do you have some starting out suggestions for lifestyle change, not just diet? I've read posts back months, and have heard some good things, but HOW do you motivate yourself? I plan to get out of bed 45 minutes earlier each day and take Kallie for a 30 minute walk each morning before it gets too hot, but I can't get my butt out of bed in the morning! I have tons of recipes for low-cal/fat, nutritious meals, but I don't like cooking on week days; I'm too tired.Anyway, I think I'm finally becoming serious about getting healthy, as I've decided that if I want to make it to a ripe old age, I better start taking care of myself! Getting ready to quit smoking, want to get in shape, etc. So that's my reason, but I can't motivate myself! (I'm also an incredibly lazy person.) Suggestions appreciated!
