Joyce, Actually the best course I ever took was titled "Current American affairs" It actually covered things like how to rent an apartment, Different types of insurance, car,health ,life etc. How/where to get a simple will. All kinds of stuff you actually need to know to get on with life. Even what credit cards where and how they worked. Too bad it's not required think of how much lower the national debt might be. Um no wait a second.... if people didn't over spend on consumer goods then the economy would tailspin . Or so conventional wisdom says . Bad idea, bad, bad.... what was I thinking.
