<I want to find out how North Carolina handles taxes for Roth IRAs. Any ideas on where I might be able to run across this information?>

According to the Winston-Salem Journal (3/19/98): "The state has not addressed how it will treat the earnings from the new Roth IRAs. It will be up to the General Assembly to decide that when it meets this year."

Usually, North Carolina adopts new US tax laws, so it's likely that they will fall in line with the federal regs. IMO, the General Assembly probably won't make a final ruling until this fall. You might call your local representative & petition.
