Here is the first Post on the Atheist Board that started my discussion. By the way, if you jump around in this and other threads, my view of the largest entity that could be called god was given the name "Fido", but that was later in the conversation.

I have to make a confession here. I do believe in god of a sort. I do not believe in the personal god of christianity, but I do believe that there is a larger consciousness that affects the world/universe/universes. I do not presume to say I “know” this consciousness exists, but it makes sense to me. I have spent a long time coming to the conclusion I have and I would appreciate some rational trashing of my ideas. Here are a few thoughts relating to my view of a “deity”.

1) Everything is conscious in it's own way. Quarks have quark consciousness. Rocks have rock consciousness. Humans have human consciousness. Planets have planet consciousness. Everything has everything consciousness.
2) My view of god is “everything”. Everything as a whole has a separate consciousness from the sum of it's parts. But each of it's parts has their own consciousness in their own way.
3) All boundaries are arbitrary. Assuming “I” end at the skin is an arbitrary boundary.
4) There are infinite conscious entities depending on how you choose to arbitrarily assign boundaries.
5) All assignation of boundaries are equally valid and equally arbitrary.
6) “I” am a different consciousness/entity at every instant. As my situation and surroundings changes, I become a completely different consciousness.
