Just a little more info, I love this post:

After following the board for awhile, it seems to me that there is a binary approach to LTC:

Do I want to leave my heirs an estate?
YES-proceed (why then proceed)
NO-You are done (why and maybe you are not)

If YES, will my estate WHEN (or if) I AM GOING TO NEED LONG TERM CARE be enough to support the Nursing
Home ( if you can predict that then you did not read last years consumer reports and you have the ability to pick lottery numbers all of the time which means you will never need insurance you could get a hooker to administer and I.V. at home) re
