Just looked at the recent paperwork - it is insured by PBGC.

But the yearly paperwork lists, 'PBGC which guarantees that at least a portion of vested benefits will be paid from the Plan if the Plan is terminated or if there are not enough funds to cover'... etc.

So it appears they are insured, but I think I'll get on the payroll anyway - I hope then it will be locked in.

Am I right in assuming that a pension is exempt from SS tax?

Sorry, getting older and looking at learning a whole bunch of new stuff. Right now, it's all new.
