Just luck in my case, well, maybe getting to know some savvy Apple guru's we had in our Apple/Mac User Group, and some spare, unexpected available cash after splitting up my Dad's estate. A chance chat out in the hall made me consider looking at AAPL, some other cash came free, in it went as well...

For ages, Warren Buffet avoided tech stocks, so his venture into AAPL likely swung the mood a bit after he did join in...

Interesting times...

I was too busy working at Western Electric, as it transitioned to Lucent, to pay much attention to stocks, I did err by investing way too much into LU, couldn't believe it would fall, we were seemingly booming, more work in our group than we could keep up to, tons of OT, etc.. But down it went, I rode it all the way, 10k shares that had a high in the upper 80s, to a low under 2... I still take losses against that, likely for many years...
