Just occurred to me this morning that first quarterly estimated payment is due in 2 1/2 weeks and I haven't received the packet of forms and instructions yet. Usually it comes in early February. Did the IRS forget me or are they really behind schedule with all the last minute tax changes in December and the stimulus rebate thing?

There's been some buzz about this on misc.taxes.moderated, but I haven't paid close attention. I do know that IRS isn't sending packages to some people who previously got them, but I don't remember any details.

Have you considered using EFTPS? I've used it for several years now and love it. There's some setup time involved, so you likely couldn't use it for your 4/15 payment, but if you're interested check out
