Just thought I'd add a different perspective to this old thread.foolcdn.com hangs, horribly, all the time...from certain countries.I use the fool from a number of different countries regularly.I spend a fair bit of time in Canada during the summer, and the siteis largely unusable, all summer, every summer, for many years. The browser generally says "waiting for g.foolcdn.com", especiallywhen doing a "preview message" or "submit message" of a draft post.It normally hangs and times out.A retry several times will sometimes get it to work on the third or fourth try, though it's still extremely slow, say 10 seconds. There is something deeply wrong with the set-up, and it has been like this for years.Again, this is in Canada, every time I'm there, with a very high speed internet link.In Europe fool.com is 10 times faster and reliable, even though I know the traffic is coming much farther. All other sites are fine in Canada, and much faster than when I'm in Europe. The fool site works fine in other countries I've tried frequently like Hong Kong.Basically, I don't post much in the summer. It's just too painful when I'm in Canada.I suspect that what others are reporting (e.g., this message from the UKhttp://boards.fool.co.uk/jfoolcdncouk-12475681.aspx?sort=who... )is other countries getting a taste of what Canada gets all the time.Whatever is serving this stuff is really truly hilariously misconfigured.Next time I'm in Canada I'm going to resort to using a VPN server in another country.Normally that makes things much slower, but I bet it will fix the fool site.Jim
