Just to be clear about dosing though: you are saying about 400-600 mg ibuprofen (same for naproxen?) and 500 mg. Tylenol? ("two" Tylenols dependent on capsule etc. size)

Aleve (naproxen) comes in 220 mg pills. Motrin (Ibuprofen) comes in 200 mg pills.

Extra Strength Tylenol comes in 500 mg pills, REGULAR Strength Tylenol comes in 325 mg pills. Make sure you know which you have!!!

Both naproxen and ibuprofen are 6-8 hour dosing times, Tylenol used to be a 4-6 hour but is now extended to six hour.

So for likely maximum effectiveness, you could:

Take two Motrin (200 mg, 400mg total) OR two Aleve, (220 mg, 440 mg total) pills,

PLUS:

One or two Extra Strength OR Regular Strength Tylenol pills

every SIX hours. Do not shorten that duration.

And would this be effective for perhaps 8 hours? 6, 4 hours? Depending on my activities or other, debating doing this just once a day, or twice a day. For at home pain management over these next 2 1/2 days, I am hoping to use the natural remedies as much as possible and using the ibuprofen/acetaminophen OTC cocktail for when significant pain may be an issue, or if things get worse.

It depends on when the pain bothers you most.

If the pain is very bad during the day, I'd use the OTC meds during the day to help you get through.

If the pain is preventing you from sleeping, then use the OTC meds to help you get the sleep you need.

Personally, I'm a wimp about pain, so I'd take the combo three times a day, total (but NO MORE).

YES, take it with food, and AT LEAST 8oz of water.

Pain management is about reducing stress on your body and mind. So whatever time of day is most difficult for you to manage, concentrate your pain management strategy on alleviating that.

Best of luck!
