Next time you buy a head of lettuce, try this.

Wash the lettuce and allow it to dry. Chop the lettuce into a large salad. I like to use a large plastic lettuce knife. Using metal knives on lettuce cause it to start going bad quicker.

Once you have your salad lettuce ready, place it into 4-5 food saver bags and seal them. You now have several vaccum sealed bacgs of salad lettuce, just like the ones at the grocery store. These will last for 2-3 weeks in the fridge.
