KBGlenn,

I have been trading options for 35 years. Recently I have picked up on the NDX options. For example, the NDT SE (jul 1225 put) caught my attention. Reasons 1)With the VIX at an annual low, and 2)YHOO reporting after the close, (70% of stocks fall immediately after earnings), 3) a terrific run up in the market and YHOO YTD I picked up a few puts. Lo and behold, yhoo disapointed, the market tanked and the puts doubled in 2 days.

The NDX options have a very high beta and only present a good trade as they near expiration. I have seen a 10 fold move on the last day of trading when the NASDAQ had one of those 3% moves, either way. Expiration is the THIRD Thursday of the month, vice Friday for equity options.

As for taking a position on such a short term basis, you must have compelling reasons. You can't just do it each month on a regular basis and come out ahead.

JMHO, worth the price you paid!

PS The QQQ's dont have enough price action for this game
