NEW YORK, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Kemet Corp. (NYSE:KEM - news), a maker of electrical parts used in cell phones and computers,
on Tuesday said it expects earnings for its third quarter ended September 30 will ``approximate' analysts' consensus estimates.

According to Thomson Financial/First Call the consensus estimate is for nil earnings per share, with a range between a loss of 2 cents and a profit of 2 cents.

In July, the Greenville, South Carolina-based company forecast that net income for the quarter ended September 30 would be positive.

Shares of Kemet slipped 12 cents, or 0.73 percent, to close at $16.28 on the New York Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
