I wonder if the odds makers in Vegas are giving any odds on the Northern portion of it going ahead and when. Nebraska gave the go ahead so none of the States that it goes through have any objections any more. But it still isn't getting any love.

"Now, in what’s being described as an “unprecedented” moment in an organizational history that encompasses landmark fights to protect the Grand Canyon, block nuclear power projects and preserve millions of hectares of pristine wilderness, the Sierra Club has formally decided to engage in its first-ever act of civil disobedience in a bid to stop one of Canada’s biggest economic development projects: TransCanada Corp.’s construction of the controversial Keystone XL pipeline to pump oil-sands petroleum from Alberta to refineries in the U.S.

"In an ever increasing show of cowardice President Barack Obama has once again avoided making any decision about the fate of the Keystone XL pipeline, instead deciding to delay his verdict until later in the year"

I think the southern portion is to be finished sometime this summer, if it is still on schedule.

On a side note does the terminal point of the Keystone have more options than the Seaway. I read how it is at half capacity because one refiner is down for maintenance at the end.

"Potential takers already include Manitoba, where bitumen could be shipped from the Port of Churchill;"

At least they are looking at all options, but one would think that an awful lot of storage would be needed at Churchill as the shipping season is pretty short.

"The current shipping season runs from mid-July to the beginning of November"

Tim,
Interesting thread, except for that jaagu fellow who seems to contribute nothing beyond just poking with a stick to be annoying.

I wouldn't know as he is a Troll who I've had on ignore for months. Every board he hangs out on becomes nearly defunct after people get tired of him and leave.
