Krauthammer started by drawing a sharp distinction between European sympathizers and demonstrators and the American ones.

"When it comes to Europe, I think the overwhelming factor is raw, negative, deep-seated anti-Semitism. This is 2,000-year-old anti-Semitism,” he said.

On the other hand, anti-Semitism is not a major problem in America, according to Krauthammer. “Of all the countries the Jews have lived in in 2,000 years, this is the most tolerant, friendly, loving country that the Jews have ever known.”

He said that Hamas does not allow the media to take or post photos of its operatives - living or dead - only women and children. He further cited statistics that the majority of Palestinian casualties in the first 16 days of the conflict were aged 17-39.

“What we’re talking about is an Israeli army that’s extremely careful to reduce the number of casualties if they can," Krauthammer said. "But, of course, if the headquarters of your enemies is in the basement of a hospital, and they’re shooting from the windows, what are you supposed to do?”

Notice that all Hamas operatives wear masks. Like my mother used to say, "If you're going to do it, don't be ashamed of it. If you're ashamed of it, don't do it."

The American military's solution to such an issue in WWII was to withdraw out of town and bomb the town back into the stone age.

The Brits in [particular spent years bombing German cities with civilians as the primary targets.

Frankly, all the attempts to bind lawmaking with laws just favors insurgents who ignore such laws.

"Get the UN out of Gaza and KEEP Gaza out of the UN."

That's my motto for the day.

The only thing that ends wars is victory. As long as the nimrods in the UN and the US Socialist Party keep the terrorists from being decimated, the war will continue.

This stuff isn't hard to understand; it's just that there are too many people who refuse to.

I don't know what you think, but rather than seeing only one in ten terrorists killed (decimation), I would rather see them all killed (exterminated). <g>

Decimate is a word that is often misused.

Mike

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decimation_(Roman_army)

Decimation (Latin: decimatio; decem = "ten") was a form of military discipline used by senior commanders in the Roman Army to punish units or large groups guilty of capital offences such as mutiny or desertion. The word decimation is derived from Latin meaning "removal of a tenth". The procedure was a pragmatic, yet vicious, attempt to balance the need to punish serious offences with the practicalities of dealing with a large group of offenders.[2]

A cohort (roughly 480 soldiers) selected for punishment by decimation was divided into groups of ten; each group drew lots (Sortition), and the soldier on whom the lot fell was executed by his nine comrades, often by stoning or clubbing.

I'm aware of the derivation, but was using the colloquial definition. Decimation pretty much died off (pardon the pun) during the Roman Empire, but it wasn't as necessary with a professional army and there were certain battles, like Teutoburg Forest, where pretty much every Roman soldier was slaughtered.

The PBS New Hour program had a piece on Gaza residents who used their rare cease fire hours to turn out for demonstrations in support of Hamas.

Apparently Israel has more work to do there.

There you go. I guess the Pals won't be happy until they're utterly squished like the bugs they are.

I'm sure far too many of them would turn out for these demonstrations totally voluntarily.

The question I have is: what happens to those who DON'T show up?
