Check this out...my personal photos don't nearly do the place justice.

Let's see here...

Brand new coal fire power plant through gasification. Only other one I know of is in the Dakotas. Firing on Lignite which is essentially "dirt that burns"...not really "minable" coal unless you have a power plant sitting on top of it.

$4.5 BB is what someone told me it is costing. Looks like about $700 MM in subsidies, etc. Almost 700 MWhr production. Currently about 6,000 people on the construction site. Truly amazing. The thing is absolutely huge. I couldn't even get it all into one photo. Still about 50 cranes on site.

There are some things that I'm not totally sure I'm buying. It's supposed to compress the CO2 output and run it via pipeline down to the gulf coast for use there. I have no doubts that there is high CO2 demand and prices on the gulf coast because another plant I'm aware of just did a large (>$100 MM) expansion/demothballing because CO2 availability in Louisiana dried up. But still, this part seems a bit far fetched.

Anyways...I guess you could count this as 300 "green jobs" when completed although they look awfully close to "black jobs" to me.
