I have no idea if this is a valid metric of popularity for a comedian, but I decided to look up the Twitter accounts of the final 6 Last Comic Standing competitors and rank them by number of followers:

Tommy Johnagin - http://twitter.com/tommyjohnagin - 3920
Myq Kaplan - http://twitter.com/myqkaplan - 3354
Roy Wood Jr. - http://twitter.com/roywoodjr - 3093
Mike DeStefano - http://twitter.com/mike_destefano - 687
Felipe Esparza - http://twitter.com/funnyfelipe - 426
Jonathan Thymius - http://twitter.com/jonathanthymius - 250

I thought this would give a sense of the built-in fan base already out there to vote for the contestants, but it may just be a metric of how comedians promote themselves on-line.

For comparison, the four finalists who have been eliminated:

Maronzio Vance - http://twitter.com/maronziovance - 1811
Rachel Feinstein - http://twitter.com/rachelfeinstein - 1353
Laurie Kilmartin and James Adomian don't have Twitter accounts that I could find.

Based on follower counts, one would expect Rachel and Maronzio to still be on the show instead of Jonathan and Felipe, so maybe there's no validity to this survey, and mechanical investing methods may not apply to reality TV show vote prediction. :)
