Lawrence,

I really do not have a problem not covering birth control if drugs for erectile disfunction are not covered!

Of course! Drugs for erectile dysfunction also are not medically necessary, so there's no reason why a health plan should have to cover them, either.

There is, however, a moral difference. Natural Law finds no objection to drugs for erectile dysfunction or to fertility treatments. It does find serious moral objection to many forms of birth control.

However I really do not think the company that hires someone should have the right to dice and slice what medical care that person should have. I would rather have birth control mandated for insurers to have as part of their insurance than to have abortions.

Abortions also are not medically necessary, so there's also no reason why a health plan should have to cover them.

But backing up a step, your argument actually favors abolition of employer-funded health plans in favor of each worker buying his or her own health insurance. That way, the employer's religious beliefs do not enter into the picture.

Norm.
