I went to NYC last week for the 1st time and we went to Le Bernardin. We had the "Le Bernardin Tasting" with wine pairing. It's seven courses, but we had 2 extra because when we sat down, we got a tuna tartare appetizer for no reason. And then my friend didn't finish her cheese course which really concerned the captain and so he "talked to the chef" and we got another dessert course - the "egg" which is kind of their signature dish. It was delicious!But what was really thrilling was after the 2nd course, Eric Ripert came out and greeted the table next to us. That's right! Eric Ripert! He was right in front of me! He is so handsome. I find him totally dreamy.I really liked some of the wine pairings and let the sommelier know. She told me that she would write them down for me. But at the end of the night, we got a copy of the menu (with wine pairings) and a Zagat Survey. Hahahahahahaha. Maybe we looked like tourists, I don't know. If I go to New York again, I'm going to Le Bernardin again.- SusanP.S. My favorite course was the 2nd course - a curried crab mousse, wrapped in thin zucchini rounds in a cured broth. My friend's favorite was the 5th course, the escolar in a red wine bernaise.
