Deal finalized for sale of Wizards, Verizon Center
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04...
The Abe Pollin family has reached a deal with Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis to sell him the family's share of the Washington Wizards and Verizon Center

Nice to see this get done. At one point it appeared it might be acrimonious.

Leonsis bought into Pollin's empire over a decade ago. He originally wanted to buy the Wiz! Abe instead sold him the Caps along with a minority stake in the combined holding of the Wiz and the phone booth. And then Leonsis waited patiently for his time to come.

In the meantime he's lost a ton of money on the Caps, and built them into a force. Maybe under his ownership, the Wiz too could blossom.
