Lets call things what they are. Even in one-sided congressional districts, folk don't show up to vote in the primaries even though the primary is the whole election. Very small numbers of votes can propel the most amazingly -------- folk into office. When these folk try to run for a wider office, its common that they crash and burn.... witness Murdock and the other rape guy coming out of the house and running for senator. The same is true for statewide office in those states that are smaller than a congressional district. Sarah Palin won a 5 way race in the 2006 republican primary getting a total of 50,000 votes.
