Let's do a thought experiment:


Why not have a "cash for clunkers program" for ALL new vehicles purchased?

The government could effectively end the market for low cost used cars that huge number of people depend upon who don't want to spent the money for new cars.

This suggests to me that those who benefit from a cash for clunkers program are the auto manufacturers primarily, and secondarily those who buy new cars and see their purchases subsidized by the government.

The people who are harmed are the 90% who buy used cars in order to provide lower cost transportation for themselves and their families.

Once again we have Democrats, liberals and environmentalists waging war on the working class.
