I recently surrendered a life insurance policy for cash. My insurance company tells me that, because the policy is in "safe harbor" they will not report the surrender and will not send me a 1099-R. They suggested I contact a tax advisor to determine if I need to report the proceeds as income on my tax return. Can anyone help me out on this? Thanks very much.Gary Gravelle
