Whether one is doing the investing from within a given country or from afar, that gov't is most certainly getting a piece of the action. They never miss an opportunity.

I suppose that brokers which allow you to buy on foreign markets have systems in place to withhold taxes when appropriate. My situtation is just a bit more complicated, due to being a resident here.

I am in the interior of the state of Sao Paulo, a town of about 10,000 people. The Buddhists haven't made it here, but just about every other religion has ;-)

Everyone should come visit Brazil. Country gets quite a bit of bad press and even though much of it is well deserved, I think the place is under ratted.
