Are any of you fools buying or considering long term care insurance?
I am 53, recently finished educating 5 children (whew) and am now turning more attention to my own future needs. The obvious is I am going to have to start saving more for retirement.
At this same time, my parents are aging and need help. Mother has Alzheimers (it runs in the family). Dad is doing all he can to hold it together and has his own physical problems. Their savings are getting hit hard with medical costs. They do not have long term care insurance.
All these circumstances cause me to consider whether i should purchase long term care for myself.
I would love to hear from any of you who have traveled this road ahead of me. Many thanks for any advice you may offer me.
