For Federal Schedule D purposes, the gov't has us distinguish between Long-term and Short-term losses. Is there any advantage to my bottom line having a short-term loss vs long-term loss (or vice-versa).I have some stock I want to sell which have a loss, and need to know whether to wait for the loss to become long-term.Thanks for any help.
