Looks like NGG's divi has been pretty lumpy. Not really. It is a UK firm, and like many overseas firms pays out biannually and with a skew of one payment being higher than the other (say 60:40, though I don't recall if that is the typical split here). So, there is currency and the unbalanced payout that make it appear lumpy. I believe there was a special dividend a few years back as well.As for the question of yield. It is a problem lots have. I would consider closed end funds if I were managing my parents money for income.RalphHelical Investor
