Lots of people on the board, and most people everywhere, actually, are high on universal coverage.That's good; the main problem with health care in the US is there are people who can't access it who want to. The two main reasons for that are money (poor and/or no job) and prior conditions. The money side could be approached with a system used for public housing: rather than build housing projects the government provides payment assistance to access private housing. Prior conditions can be dealt with by 'assigned risk' pools in each state, similar to auto insurance for bad drivers. I believe this was being done in a number of states and has expanded as part of Obamacare.DB2
