Lots of things are relative to your 'frame of reference'.

To someone who never travels more than 5 miles from home, as far as he or she is concerned, the world might be flat. He can see everywhere he/she goes from the top of a tall tree.....a map laid flat on the table is as accurate as he/she will ever need..... so as far as that person, is the 'world flat'? One might conclude that....

If you take a glass of 16 oz that has 8 ounces it in, is it 'half full'? true or false? is it half 'empty'? true or false. If something is true, can it also be false? Aha..... the answer to the first two questions is yes.....but the answer to the third question you have a problem.

If question one s true, and question two is true, about the same glass of water, how can it be both true and false?

So for some questions, the 'frame of reference' is all important....

Almost nothing is 'black and white' with no shades of meaning IMPLIED by the way the questions are answered.

Ask residents of the area of Conn, are you in favor of war, or would you like to follow the British, and 95% of them might say war (1775)......ask it in 1812, and you might get a different answer...... ask it in 1941, and you might get anohter answer......

In the early 1900s, you might get a reward for shooting John Dillinger, the bank robber in the back.....$10,000 reward, dead or alive....today if you shoot anyone in the back, no matter how 'wanted' they are, you are likely going to be executed, and he'll be given five life terms, eliible for parole in 18 months.....

A lot of things are 'relative' including what some call 'morality'....

You go camping in the woods 1000 feet from your house, and a bear attacks. You kill it.....oops, it was an endangered species....you are going to jail...you should have run the other way, climbed a tree...called 9-1-1....etc......100 years ago, no one would say anything..... you wound and disable a known rapist climbing through your window in New York City....oops, you get arresting for 'having a gun'.....he sues you for a million dollars because he can no longer 'pusure' his occupation of crime, and wins a 10 million dollar judgement against you...you go to jail for 12 months...he gets fre medical care for $100,000 until he can collect from you.....

This "PC" crap has gone too far....
