Love Tanier.I was a Georgetown fan for a while in the 80s, just for something relevant to root for while Bob Wade was busy wrecking Maryland. I don't see any of the St Johns/Georgetown slugfests of the Chris Mullin - Patrick Ewing era on this list.My own favorite Big East game was a low-profile Syracuse-Georgetown game, during Rony Seikaly's tenure, probably 1987. The Georgetown team was nicknamed "Reggie and the Miracles": Reggie Williams and 4 guys who could really play defense. Reggie led the team and the Big East in scoring, also led the team in rebounding, steals and blocks, and was 2nd or 3rd in assists.Syracuse led by (I think) 12 at the half – Gtown's offense was completely inept – and as the teams went into the locker room, the Syracuse players mocked the Gtown players. It was clearly visible on the network broadcase, before they went to commercial. I think Seikaly was one of the offenders.Georgetown opened the second half in the most ferocious full court press I had ever seen. Syracuse couldn't even get the ball to the timeline. Georgetown completely dominated, won by 12. It was amazing.RIP Big East. Rolly, Loooie, PJ, Jimmy B, Big John, Calhoun, Ricky P for a while and even Gary. Great times.
