<But have you had any fun along the way?>Lots! My job, as sales person, product manager and project leader, required (expenses paid) travel around the U.S., to Europe (yearly), Mexico and Asia. I like to travel, so this was fun.DH and I both got our pilots' licenses, and flew our small (old, used) Cessnas all over the U.S., plus Canada, the Bahamas, and the Dominican Republic, camping under the wing of the plane. We now have a small camper, so we travel with wheels on the ground, not off. Having a bed, in a camper, is a lot easier on middle-aged backs than sleeping on the ground, as we did for 15 years. The fun is in seeing new places, and meeting new people :-).We lived (and still do) in a modest, older home, with ample space for gardening (a major hobby, for both of us). We both like to cook, so we don't miss the fact that we almost never eat out. Since we both like to work with our hands, our repair and construction projects are enjoyable, not a chore. We have family and friends who love and respect us for ourselves, not for our materialistic displays. We invite people over for dinner, periodically. I buy myself a small "treat" every year, usually an art object, simply for pleasure (not to impress anyone). We read lots of books and magazines, on diverse subjects, including science, politics, art, economics, history, etc.Since our pleasures are quiet pleasures, we are happy as we are.If your idea of fun is drinking, taking drugs, gambling, eating out, wild parties, and materialistic display of fancy homes and cars...no, we haven't had fun :-).Wendy
