Refrigerator: if the self-defrosting fridge isn't getting cold enough and you keep setting it colder, try setting both freezer and fridge back to a little warmer than the "middle" temperature (i.e. if the dial goes from 1-10, set it at 4) for a night. This should allow it self-defrost again. (if you are worried the food will get to warm, put it in an ice chest or another fridge for the night).

(I am assuming this is true for all fridges, it's been true for two of mine so far and has worked on advice from our appliance guy... anyone who has more knowledge feel free to chime in!)
