OK, for the PC crowd, lets' review this logically:
1) Virginity is a concept that applies only to women.
Main Entry: vir·gin Pronunciation: 'v&r-j&n Function: noun Etymology: Middle English, from Old French virgine, from Latin virgin-, virgo young woman, virgin Date: 13th century 1 a : an unmarried woman devoted to religion 2 a : an absolutely chaste young woman b : an unmarried girl or woman 3 : a female animal that has never copulated
2) Women are objects that are to be "used."
The original post states: "...it's my understanding that a virgin is only virgin until she has been used." I fail to see that implication that the purpose of virgins is to be “used” but rather the statement implies that once a virgin has been “used” they are no longer a virgin.
Main Entry: use Pronunciation: 'yüz Function: verb Inflected Form(s): used /'yüzd, in the phrase "used to" usually 'yüs(t)/; us·ing /'yü-zi[ng]/ Date: 14th century transitive senses 1 : to put into action or service : avail oneself of : EMPLOY
3) Once "used," a woman is worth less.
Main Entry: virgin Function: adjective Date: 14th century 1 : free of impurity or stain : UNSULLIED
OK, now let's try this one:
“Statements like this, "...it's my understanding that a virgin is only virgin until she has been used." often give the perceptive reader a glimpse into the inner workings of the writer . . . I must still continue to question the counsel of someone who advocates this thinking! “
Main Entry: ad ho·mi·nem Pronunciation: (')ad-'hä-m&-"nem, -n&m Function: adjective Etymology: New Latin, literally, to the person Date: 1598 1 : appealing to feelings or prejudices rather than intellect 2 : marked by an attack on an opponent's character rather than by an answer to the contentions made
