<<About five to seven percent of all 401k plans have a self-directed account option in which participants may select their own investments using the services of a broker.>>

Hey Pixy,

I'm looking for the name of a firm which serves as trustee for a self-directed 401(k) plan (bank, brokerage firm, etc.), in hopes of raising the percentage above. Those five to seven percent of the plans have a trustee that handles the investments.

I know that rayvt and superdave posed this question back in the #360 range but I never found an answer. I've made a number of calls to institutions which provide trustee services but I haven't yet found one that provides a self-directed option.

Know of one?
