The national consensus (with which I disagree) seems to be that while K-12 education is a public good and should be supported as such, higher education is strictly a private good with no greater public benefit. As such, its budget is first on the chopping block.>>


Democrats have been eager to cut funding for colleges and universities so they could spend on other things. They have transferred funding for tax money to college tuition and thence to student loan debt.

It's amusing that college students, who are paying the piper for these policies, continue their support for Democrats.
