<<I posted it in the hope that it might help some to understand that it doesn't have to be either creation or evolution, equating to either faith or no faith.>>
You can say that because you are not a slave to your dogma (evidently). My fundy coworker says "either the Bible is right, or it isn't". He thinks it is right, and will twist science and other scholarship like a pretzel to make it fit that narrow world view.
How he keeps his head from exploding I have no idea.
I know the type.
We visited the "Creation Museum" in KY last year. My brother in law is a fundy and has a lifetime pass - I guess he thought lending us the pass would convince me to cease my heretical ways. Anyways, that place is quite incredible. I'll do a write up on it when I get the time. In summary, we enjoyed the petting zoo and the restaurant wasn't too bad. And I had a nice nap in the planetarium. The rest of it was an extreme example of your pretzel twist.
We will not be trading our memberships to our local museum center and zoo for a membership to the "Creation Museum".
God is not served by closing our minds to truth, wherever it may come from.
