<<< That's a good concern. Know that with Ashoka, your money goes to a social entrepreneur who has been carefully vetted (http://www.ashoka.org/fellows/search.cfm) through a time-tested-and-improved process. Your money provides a living stipend for these folks for usually 3 years, while they get great programs up and running (or running faster).

I encourage you all to check out www.ashoka.org. >>>

Selena, thanks much for your response. :) That's one of the things why I contributed via Foolanthropy, and Ashoka, specifically (nice site there, btw)... I know you wonderful TMF Fools have done all the hard work and investigation so that I don't have to. My confidence in TMF carries over into finally participating this year with my modest Foolanthropic effort.

Thank you, Selena, for keeping me (all of us) updated :) Also, I read your article about the history of the Grameen Bank - it was so nicely written... wish I had your writing skills!

'nuff for now... $IQ
