#1--general consensis(?), about 20 times annual expenses saved for retirement. Of course this depends if your habits will change.

#2--to paraphrase a line from Dead Poets Society, "to suck the marrow out of it without choking on the bone"

#3--my work is generally fun and I enjoy it, except when I get those 2 AM calls from the hospital. But, my retirement will be doing medical missionary work.

#4--I'm doing it part-time now.
