I've also held ARCC for a long time but i do remember them trading around the $4 level during the depth of the credit crisis. So they did make it through, but it was a rough ride. I'd like to say that I doubled my position a the lows but the best i can say is that i didn't panic and sell at the lows. Similar situation with NRF.
