<<<<CLEP and DANTES are great tools, but one has to make sure the effort they place into one of the courses is worth the effort. To just take the course and not be able to apply it to anything can be a waste of time. I would make sure I coordinated with a college on what they will accept before taking them. The could be better spent taking an online college course.>>>>One good thing about CLEP and DANTES is that you don't have to take a course. I took the basic English, Social Science, and a few other TESTS and I passed them with flying colors, because I was old enough I already knew the information. The tests are giving free by the military, but you have to go through a huge amount of red tape to get there, but if you pay the $45 you can walk right in and take the test. If you fail you have just lost $45 dollars and you need to go and take the class. BUT...If you pass you have just earned a credit you need and you can save you GI Bill to pay for a different class. It was one way I finished my degree. Come to find out when I was about to graduate, I needed one extra class to graduate. Instead of taking the class I went and took the CLEP and BAM I am graduated.Sunshine :-)
