Man, I hate stuff like that. Working with teens that age can be very disappointing, but can be so rewarding when it works (used to work with 12-16 year olds on a weekly basis; still miss it). Keep up the good work; you may reach him yet! maybe just telling him you are disappointed in him but haven't given up on him is what he needs to hear.
