Mark, I could build a spark gap speaker with a Faraday cage surrounding the actual spark allowing only sound to escape. I could also create a spark osculating at, say, 2000 a/c as did Tesla in his demonstrations preventing physical harm. However, you nailed it in application and family. No one wants – even if placated – enough juice able to fry small animals or grandkids. Our cats love being on top of the warm amp and if one of them got fried I’d be in the doghouse for eternity. However my mind moves to having several spark gaps, maybe 20 or more each with a specific length and each filtered to frequency. Could work yet, as you pointed out, costly and not best bang for the buck.MichaelR
