What is the so-called tax "marriage penalty" and is there anyway around it, outside of not getting married?

[[What is the so-called tax "marriage penalty" and is there anyway around it, outside of not getting
married?]]

DarrellK was kind enough to provide you with the URL link to the post regarding the marriage penalty, Bob. I hope that you have had the opportunity to read the article by now.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know and I'll try to address 'em as you ask 'em.

In the meantime, don't forget to read the other posts dealing with the marriage penalty (separate/joint tax returns), that really goes hand in hand with the marriage penalty issues. Heck...you might even some stuff in the Taxes FAQ that you might even find interesting :-D
