Maybe you need to check where you buy it. I bought mine last year for $29.99 with a $10 rebate from Staples. This year I bought it before Christmas from Office Depot for $14.99 with a $5 rebate. As far as I can remember, all their products have come down in price this year

At Staples this last week you could get TurboTax and Quicken 99 Basic for $45 total. Rebates from Quicken/Intuit were $35. Net cost, $10. But I already had TurboTax so I sold it on eBay for $22. I may quit my day job at this rate. :-)

PS: This year and last Intuit sold me, through a promotional mailing, TT for $19, plus about $6 shipping.
