Thanks to all of you for helping my post become Post of the Day! Funny you should mention that about camping...I just told my DW the other day we need to start camping more on vacations. The advantages are all of what you named and then some. My wife, two small children and I went to NJ last month for vacation and spent 2x what you spent camping for only 2-3 days of fun and many more expenses. Another idea I suggested to my wife is to set aside what we would have spent on a more expensive vacation every year into a rainy day fund and watch it grow over the years. Also, this summer I stayed home for a week and did things in town and around the house and that was the most stress-free vacation I've had in years!

For those of you whose PCs still default to the page on your browser, right now (Saturday around 4:30pm) the feature article is on the Top 10 camp sites in the U.S. Let me know if the link does not work
