Here is another development in medicine.

This ought to be interesting if it makes it to the Supreme Court. I've used drugs for "off label" reasons. And I can see the arguments from both sides. But using free speech to push a drug is a new one on me.

On one hand, its hard to get people to sign up their children for drug studies. Thus the "off label" use for many things on people under the age of 16. It just hasn't been studied. Many organ systems aren't fully developed until about 12 (brains at least until 21), so drug action and elimination can have a totally different profile compared to adults. I've used drugs off label when there was no other option and a live was at stake.

On the other hand, you can go down the slippery slope and you're in the realm of snake oil salesmen. Or at a minimum of herbal supplements. I still don't understand why the FDA hasn't stepped in and regulated that industry. I'm sure its about lobbies and money.

I fall in the camp of you can't say it if you can't prove it.
