1. I know not many people like annuities. I am 22 and work for Merrill Lynch. I'm not a broker. I'm moving my annuity from John Hancock to the ML Retirement Plus Annuity for Compliance. What are some suggestions of how I should allocate my portfolio, or should I do 100% to the ML Index Fund? I would like other opinions before my broker suggests an allocation. These are my fund options for the Retirement Plus Acct:AIM VI Capital Appreciation Fund, AIM VI Value Fund, Alliance Premier Growth, Alliance Quasar Portfolio, Hotchkis & Wiley Variable Trust Int'l VIP Portfolio, Mercury Asset Mgmt VI US Large Cap, ML Basic Value Focus, ML Capital Focus, ML Developing Capital Markets Focus, ML Global Growth Focus, ML Global Strategy Focus, ML Gov't Bond, ML High Current Income, ML Index 500, ML Prime Bond, ML Quality Equity, ML Special Value Focus, ML Select Ten VI Trust, MFS Emerging Growth, or MFS Research. Also, when a fund has VI in it, what does that mean?2. How should I choose investments for my ML 401k? There are probably over 50 options with the option for a self directed acct.3. Also, since I am a ML Employee I can buy any mutual fund with no load. The message boards say to buy no load funds. Do load funds tend to have higher 12b-1 fees and annual maintenance fees or they do they not directly correlate with each other. With the whole universe of mutual funds do I stick with Index funds like the Vanguard 500 or buy something else. Thanks everyone. I know what I wrote is so long!
