Michael,

I'd imagine you keep an acurate log of your hours/gas purchased. So, after 100 hrs I'd be interested to know what the average gph is.

I'm looking semi-seriously at the Evinrude Etec 250's. Evinrude claims the new technology yields gas consumption superior to 4 strokes, no break-in period, vastly superior power, and much less maintenance.

Gas has increased substantially over $3.00 at both our local marinas, and I already see it impacting the power boaters, who now pull up to the dock and ask for a dollar amount of fuel rather than just saying "fill it."

Imagine the wrath visited on hubby when wife reviews the credit card bill and *inquires* about the $517.20 item at Harbor Marine Fuel Inc.

Of course, that may be an opportune moment to initiate a discussion on the wisdom for a repower from gas to diesel I/O for the 26' weekender with the 150 gallon tank.

"Not only will we burn half the fuel, Sweetiepie, dear, honey, but we'll double the range! 160 gallons of diesel instead of gas and we could reach the tuna grounds, easy!"

We were hoping for prices to stay in the low to mid 2's for a while to give the recboater a chance to acclimate. The leap to $3+ may take some chewing before they fill up with abandon again.
